Victorian Trades Hall – House of Representatives Standing Committee public hearing

We were thrilled to take students from Deakin Law Clinic’s employment law practice to Victorian Trades Hall on Friday to observe a public hearing of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Workplace Relations, Skills and Training, as they conduct their inquiry into the adequacy of the National Employment Standards.

Congratulations to our Clinical Solicitor Rebecca Tisdale on being invited to give evidence before the Standing Committee – well-deserved recognition of her outstanding contribution in this field.

Rebecca was honoured to highlight the stories of Deakin Law Clinic’s clients in her evidence before the Committee, as we advocate for a national long service leave standard and more effective enforcement of the NES.

A fantastic example of advocacy in action and meaningful student involvement.
Thanks to the students who contributed to the submission.
